Candida Treatment knowing when to start

Posted by JamieK

The earlier you start to treat a Candida yeast infection the quicker the candida treatment is. Therefore I’ve created a short list of Candida Symptoms to help if you think you might have Candida and need to start a Candida treatment plan if early enough:

Itching and Burning around the Vagina

The vagina and surrounding area usually becomes irritated and inflamed during a yeast infection. These areas also become extremely itchy with an overwhelming urge to scratch the infected areas. Unfortunately scratching makes the area even more irritated and inflamed a vicious circle starts.

Pain when urinating or during intercourse

The pain that is usually experienced when going to the toilet or during intercourse and is caused by an inflamed vaginal mucosa and genital parts. A similar pain is also experienced during a urinary tract infection (UTI) but a good way to tell the two apart is to ascertain where the pain stops and starts. The pain caused by a UTI will increase towards the end of urinating whereas the pain caused by a yeast infection will be consistent throughout.

Foul smell from the Vagina

A foul fermented bread or cheese like odour from the vagina is a frequent sign of a yeast infection. The odour is not a fishy odour but smells more like fermented bread or cheese. A fishy smell indicates a bacterial infection whereas a fermented smell indicates a yeast infection. Where a bacterial infection coincides with a yeast infection, medical advice should be sought from a doctor.

Vaginal discharge that is usually yellow or white

There is usually white or a light yellow discharge coming from the vagina during a candida yeast infection. The discharge consistency can range from creamy to thick and this is what causes the odour described above.
